Lippie Review: NARS Audacious

NARS Audacious

To mark its 20th year, NARS launched in September a whole new line of lipsticks, named Audacious. It’s a permanent collection of 40 lipsticks in “single-stroke coverage so shamelessly seductive in touch and texture.” The buzz is they are selling out fast.

Ericke asked me to choose just one color. A difficult situation, I settled on a color that I don’t really have, which is Audrey, a sophisticated red just by its name. And then I saw the warm pinkish nude she wore on one of her photos. So I received Brigitte also.

There’s nothing to not like about my new NARS Audacious lipsticks. Firstly, I love the durable casing with magnetic closure. The featherweight texture is luxurious. It’s highly pigmented and leaves the lips comfortably protected, no annoying lines whatsoever. Not the creamy kind of silky, it glides with control and accuracy, no need for lipliner. I wore Brigitte today and it lasted the whole day, enduring a “pancit” lunch.

NARS Audacious Audrey

Audrey is described as a red currant, but appears more intense, like ruby red, when applied. I don’t see any brown in it. It makes an opulent special occasion lipstick.

NARS Audacious Brigette

NARS says Brigitte is a nude rose, but on my NC30 skin tone, it’s a warm pink nude with a slight peachy tinge. Not having encountered anything like it before, I’m convinced I have found my perfect MLBB. I like it a lot better than my Tom Ford Forbidden Pink which is slightly cooler and pinker. I hope to get a picture of me wearing it in my future posts.

Thank you, Ericke!
